Before you apply for an athletic scholarship, you should follow the steps listed below:
- You must have graduated from high school. There are minimum core requirements that you must fulfil. You will need to read the “NCAA Guide to International Academic Standards for Athletics Eligibility” Pay particular attention to the requirements for “Australian Athletes”.
- You must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center, formally called the NCAA Clearinghouse and forward all required documents to them.
- Create your unique student-athlete profile for coaches and universities to see and recognise your abilities in athleticism, academics, and community experiences
Getting an athletic scholarship can be highly competitive. There are more than seven million high school athletes, but only one percent of them will get a full-ride scholarship to a Division I school in the U.S.
